communication workshop with Ms kok chieng mun...

this is actually to blog abt the workshop the 5 of us(xiaoli,justin, chong ken, serena and me) went on 7 april. (sorry for no pics shown cos i lost the pics!!)

all of us thought the workshop would be one where the speaker just talk and we just listen type..but NO! the 1st thing ms koh tell us to do is to prepare a 1min speech each! what for?? each n everyone will go up individually to make a speech and we would be filmed... OMG!

but all of us did it in the end..and we all did fine! no stage fright at all..haha...
later she teaches us how to do handshake...dun think it;s an easy task...there's an art to it.. u have to show sincerity in ur eyes...and send electricity thr it if u can.

before the workshop ended, we were asked to go for one more round of filming with our initial speech...this time round, we become more confident..and automatically went to queue up for our turn. but due to time constraint, ms koh only pick a few to make the speech..*PHEWS*

the workshop had definitely benefited each n everyone of us...we learn how to crap less and talk more sense...haha just joking la..we learn how to communicate more effectively and with more confidence!

Hellooo everyone, a few of us mentors went for a mini retreat to

Vietnam

last week. It was damn fun I must say, travelled 3 cities in just 4 days, incredible huh. =) Although tiring, we enjoyed ourselves with all the suan-ing, especially bout wm being too naggy and complaining too much. Haha. We were also very zi high, “Yay yay” and “Ahhh…-ing” everywhere we went. =P

It all began during reading week when we had dis idea of going overseas after our exams. I started to plan the itinerary for the trip immediately after my exams. Took a week for me to get the itinerary done up. The itinerary muz be really interesting coz it attracted Justin kor kor to join us last minute, booking the air tickets just 2 nights before our trip. Haha.. I think I can open a travel agency after dis le.. anyone interested to invest? Lol =P

Day 1 - None of us had been to Vietnam before, so we were quite excited bout getting lost. Haha. When we arrived in Ho Chi Minh Airport, I was surprised to meet a couple of my friends who were there to backpack too. It seemed that we took the same flight but I din notice them till we arrived. Blur me huh. We took a bus together to backpackers area and checked-in to our hotel. Met a really nice lady at the local tour agency who gave us lotsa advise, which we seriously needed. Haha. We rented a car to Cu Chi tunnels. The guide there was a joker. Had fun crawling through dark tunnels with bats and millipedes, really good training for ur thigh and back muscles. Ha. On the way back we dropped by the war museum. Then we travelled at night to Nha Trang. The bus ride was bout 12hrs, with uncomfortable chairs and spoilt aircon. =(

Day 2 – After checking in to our hotel in Nha Trang, we signed up for a boat trip out to the islands. The guide was another joker and thought that I was Korean. Ha.. and so qiao, Grace's TA was on the tour too. We went snorkelling, jet-skiing, and got stung by jellyfishes. So fun hehe. At one point in time, everyone on the boat were dancing around to the music, drinking beer and mulberry wine, getting really high. It was like some yatch party man. When we got back to the hotel, wm broke his glasses. We mended it with price tags from titbits that we bought. Haha, looked damn funny. But he din appreciate our efforts and complained again. Argh! Lol =P

Day 3 – Woke up early to catch sunrise with moo at the beach. But guess what, the sun was already up at 5.45am and the beach was filled with people doing exercise. We headed for Da Lat after breakfast, bout 7hrs of uncomfortable bus ride again. Da Lat is high up in the mountains. It is always wet and damn cold. We were forced to extend our stay there coz it was raining heavily and can’t visit any place. A wasted day. =(

Day 4 – Woke up earlier dis time at 4.30am to explore the place, but the hotel staff locked up the gates. We were forced to climb over the fence and some rocks to get out. Ha, like thieves. We went to explore the lake and many scenic places ourselves. When we got back, we realised we were locked out of our room coz no one took the key. Lol. After breakfast, we went on a tour to various attractions in Da Lat. The tour guide dis time really cannot make it, felt cheated off our money. Went to temples, waterfall, summer palaces and such. A boring tour, should have gone mountain climbing or trekking instead. =P Made our way back to Ho Chi Minh in the evening. At one of the stops, Grace bought a bunch of rambutans with lotsa ants and wanted to bring it on board the bus. Moo, yk, and I were terrified of ants crawling all over us, worse still, she was sitting beside me. =( For our own sake, we were forced to peel the rambutans for her. Come to think of it now, it was quite an amusing sight. Ha.

Day 5 – Woke up at 5am to check out Ho Chi Minh before going to the airport. Rode a motorcycle to various attractions we missed on day 1. Left for the airport at bout 7.30am. We were caught in a jam but still made it in time. Lol, can still remember wm’s worried face in the cab. Haha.

Definitely had a good and fun trip with them. Really enjoyed myself. So where are we going nxt? Haha, hopefully more people can join us. “Yay yay, Ahh….” Haha ;)

hey ya...everyone know gess is a new sch so going to tell u guys more abt this sch! the students are basically all nice kids... a bit academic but nice active too! at 1st i tot that there wont be a lot of students coming along but in the end abt 30 plus turn up!!! i was glad but it was hard also,... having to take care of so many students...phew phew!

we started with the 1s game which is "beach savvy" where the groups have to find ans to some question abt the 3 beaches...of course the big grp emerge as the winner being bigger in strength n bring able to spilt jobs. but inthe end, all grp get prizes so everyone is happy!

Yeah! Finally I am here to blog again after a long long time. I know you guys miss me rite.. Hehe =P

Anywayz, today marks our last mentoring session before we break for our exams. Haiz... so fast. This new bunch of kids at GMPS are really cute(like me) and fun to be with. Truly enjoy going to every session to play with them. So fun! I even taught my dear mentees how to "cai quan". Oops! Bad influence. Haha.

Today we had a birthday celebration I think?? Haha, I wasn't really sure what was going on though. A bit blur as usual la. Lol. Yup, can check out some of the photos(more of it will be uploaded on the yahoo grps soon, most prob after exams. I can't seem to upload them today. Dunno what is wrong). A little bit of disclaimer here... Chien Chien's "son", Siong Feng took all the pictures. So if they look a bit... haha, you know... it has got nothing to do with my great photo taking skills. =P

Last Day of School!!!

Yippeee!!! It's finally the last day of the semester! Feels so good. Fridays are generally my best days coz i got the fun classes on this day. If u all have the chance, go take the biz module MNO 3301 done by Dr Jay. It's real interesting class. Its seminar style so instead of the boring lectures u get, u end up playing games in class! Now u know y i look 4ward to it.

Anyways, this class was the 1st time I personally felt the kind of class bonding u normally feel in JC. Made me miss the good old days of JC... *sigh*I really dislike the tutorial system here especially for Arts where u dun really mingle that much coz most of the time u dunno who ur tutorial mates are. Kinda sad really....

Wow, from starting the blog happy, end up feeling sad. What's wrong with me? (dun ans that)

Anyways, I wish all you ppl out there the best of luck for your exams. Its just another 3 more weeks or so and it will be all over. So hang on!

Bp-mentoring at Beatty Secondary School is really unique. Every Sat, one hr was spent on academic areas and the other hr was on board games. It never cross my mind tt I would be able to learn to play board games during bp-mentoring programme. By and large, I find the students are cooperative except there are too hyper-active ones too. It was a good experience. A pity that the sessions ended very soon. I miss BSS too.

Haha, finally managed to squeeze out some time to blog about the trip to Singapore Discovery Centre. This being my dunno how many time going there ever since the forbidden memories in the army. Indeed this was GMPS's last excusion for this current batch of primary six students. Nonetheless, they never fail to leave us sometimes in despair. I guess they were in their usual goofy selves, playing around at the discovery centre. Even an attempt in taking away the 3D glasses, only to return after Liangqiao and I tried to stop them from doing so.

Praises to Tedmond and Stella for organising this last excursion. Stella was exasperated towards the end of the trip, when Kaiwee tried to go down this canal on our way back to bus, and only to climb back up after we sternly told him to come back up.

Stella and Jean had arrived as early as 845 am to make the farewell gifts for the kids. So i kind of joined them at 950am and join them in making the stuff for the kids. Those were pretty nice handmade stuff. Stella and Jean bought some staplers, and with the help of some fabric paint, they painted the names of the mentees on some stickers, stick to the staplers, and then scotch taped the labels.

I guess kids will always be kids. THey like to bath in fun and we often have to remind ourselves that so that we will never expect them to have any "thank you" hehe. Bear that in mind huh?

Look out for the video i have posted with Stella inside. It was this interesting station in Discovery Centre, where you can have your first taste of being a television broadcaster. Cool huh. Not to mention those 3d Shows we have. Boring as it can be, but 3D effects are real cool. By the way, Discovery Centre forbade the taking of pictures...so i only have these few pics with me..sad.. Jus wanna wish this batch of kids all the best in their future endeavours. The mentors in GMPS have so much fun with them. We laugh, we shout, we scold...there are jus so many memories with them on every single saturday. That, the mentors in GMPS will never forget. Good job to our new coordinators, as well as LiangQiao who also came down last saturday, and of course to the new mentors!!

Hey!!! Finally found the time at work to blog again. Dunno why these ppl pay me $8 an hour and never give any work. Ask for work also no use. Oh well, more free time for me! :)

Its such a pity that most of the committee members didn't make it for the HSS outing in which Guangyu planned to "celebrate" Stephen's birthday. Have to give Guangyu round of applause for his skilled execution of surprising Stephen. Because plans kept changing, poor Guangyu & Song Ning had to wait in GMPS for 1.l5 hours. My sincere apologies for that. Things were not in my control (TOUCH event ended late, etc).

Anyway, we had a blast at the outing. You all missed the chance of seeing Stephen's face when he put a pinch of durian in his mouth. His expression was the same as those ppl in Fear Factor when they eat live bugs & stuff. Hahaha... Too bad the photos are with Stephen (now u know y there are no photos).

The celebration was also not bad. They all took too long to sabo Stephen. I was hoping Tengfu would spring into action to get his revenge. Guess Tengfu knew how violent Stephen can get. Hehehe... I will also never forget (esp the taste of the rotten cake that ended up in my mouth in one of the HSS birthday sessions *gag*).

But it was finally done when one of Stephen's mentees actually threw the cake at him and it hit him on target! Bravo to Stephen's mentee (too bad I dunno his name). Oh well, guess Stephen got what he asked for...What goes round comes round. And remember I only facilitated this event to help Tengfu get his revenge... No other evil intentions on my part, k?

Time really flies... It was as if it was just yesterday when we first met them, but actually it has been a year already. They are still as playful as ever but can't blame them la, they are still kids afterall. Hehs...

I actually posted somthing on the anniversary and it miraculously disappeared after one day... Hmm... wonder who deleted it. Grrr... Oh well, now that I got time at IRO to blog again, let me redo it *Sigh*

The 11th anniversary actually went very smoothly. Much better than expected. Of course there were a few screw ups here and there. There were a number of funny moments. Let me see how much I can recall...

Firstly, there was Yikai and me. We actually forgot the names of 2 mentors during the mentor award ceremony. We had to call the mentors behind them 1st b4 Yikai finally remembered their names. I would like to apologise to those two mentors, Limin and Yulu (hope i got their names right this time :p)

Apart from the emcees, there was also Stephen who actually forgot the name of our BMSS coordinator, Xiaoli. Best part, he actually announced it on stage! Haha... We actually tried to tell him the name from backstage but luckily some1 came to the rescue (cant remem who, maybe Stephen can add in the missing info :p).

Then of course, there was the band! Many ppl complained that the band was not suitable for the kids. Too bad Stephen didnt sample their music b4 bringing them in. Also heard that the band members themselves were shocked to find out that they were singing to kids when the curtains opened. Haha... Plus the poor GMPS kids had their ears covered because they didnt like the band. They kept saying "no" to the next performance. *haiz*

During the cake celebration, there was Weiming who was suppose to take photo of the cake cutting (dunno why the BP photographer disappeared after the reception) but was too shy to stand in front to take the photo. Half the time was spent on calling for him to take the photo. Stephen mentioned that the curtains actually opened with Weiming's back facing the audience :p

All in all, apart from the bloopers (which the audience did not notice thankfully), the whole anniversary celebrations went well. All the hard work put in has actually paid off *sigh* By the way, I really looove the banner that we did. It looks so nice hanging up there.

Lastly, I would like to thank Tengfu, Nick, Weiming, Liang Qiao, Ai Kai, Stephen for their efforts put into making this event a success. I would like to give a special thanks to Guangyu who really amazed me with the Amazing race later that day. It was the first time the committee members, esp Stephen, didnt have to do last min stuff to get things going. Guangyu was really super efficient! For the kids, the Amazing race was the highlight of the day. So thanks for making it fun 4 them :)

Time to get back to work. I must do some justice for being paid $8 an hour. Hehehe...

We had the mentor's outing yesterday..

Owing the my project meeting in the afternoon, I attended only the latter half of the event. Although it was quite messy at the end due to wranglings over KTV or no KTV and being stuck right in the centre of the CBD area with no other area to go, we in the end went for ........ KTV (after 1 hour of discussion outside Partyworld).

My apologies to those who walked all the way from Lau Pa Sat to Partyworld (i.e. Justin, Weiming, Xiaochuan and the rest) and didn't do anything there... we shall have a better plan next time k!!

Some trivia:

a) we have a Jay Chou in the house

b) we have a Andy Lau in the house (+ he can sing oldies too!!)

c) we have a rocker in the house

d) we have someone who can sing very well without the mike (weird....)

For the sake of those mentors out there who had had some technical problems with this blog. Rest assured that the probability that your entries got problem is very small. =)

1. If you are really worried that your long entry will disappear, you can save it as a draft every now and then.

2. I understand how you feel about the long-entry-got-erased kind of feeling..i had my fair share. So don't write a thesis here. =P

3. After you have clicked the "publish post", you will see the percentage thingy that shows you how much your post had been updated. Once it reached 100%, everything should be ok.

4. Sometimes it's normal to see your picture not appearing despite having inserting them. ( it means you are super SUAY). So re-insert your picture again yea.

5. Try not to use the multiple picture insert function. It doesn't work most of the time. If it works for your operating system, then it should be fine.

6. Feel free to blog about anything here...haha really ANYTHING. Don't be shy.

Hmmh...strange that I have my own website but never actually blogged before...this is my first blog entry ever...still not exactly sure what this phenomenon of blogging is all about...but if I don't try it out how will I know?

Haha...anyway I am now joining the august ranks of our pioneer bloggers Nick, Guangyu and Stephen in blogging on our very own bpmentoring blog...I certainly hope that more mentors will join in soon...it definitely adds variety and interest if we have many more different voices on this blog :)

Yay! I have the inspiration to blog today. Haha!

Mentoring session at GMPS today was on the whole okay la. At first, we were quite shocked when only 3 mentees(Kai wee, Jin yuan and Jian yong aka xiao pang) turned up. The question going through our heads at that time was "where are the rest??" It turned out that "the rest" were all late for no valid reason, other than Yicheng. They started coming in at around 1030 and Liang Qiao was extremely pissed with them. Liang Qiao looks very funny when he is angry... just like Weiming. Wahaha! Anyway that's a bit out of point la.

Oh yah! I realised that my English really sucks. I didn't even know the meanings of some idioms from the PRIMARY school english assessment book -_-" Heh. "Penny wise, Pound foolish" Wa kaoz... that is so cheam lor.

Game for today's session was soccer. Jian sheng and Kai wee had a dispute over the game after Jian sheng's team lost. Hope they will get over it by the next session.

Oh oh... at the end of the session, the GMPS mentors also discussed what orientation games to play with the new mentors next week. We are going to play the husband and wife game. Yay! It's going to be fun... and tiring =P

Nick and I then travelled all the way to nus for Paul Yuen's workshop. Haha. But I managed to stay for only 20mins of the workshop coz I received the stupid call and I had to go defend my nation... so wei da rite? Haha!

Our banner for our 11th Anniversary was done within half a day and I am so so proud of all who contributed and these include Nick, Naseera, Jan, Yulong and Tedmond.

I tot we will take 1 entire day... but no.... it was done within half a day!!

Nas and I went to buy paint, buckets and food (for the empty stomachs). Nick came with his lappy and 5 chalks. Yulong and Jan came with black cloth and more chalk (1 entire box of chalk.. which we eventually din even touch)

Oh yah.. and poor Jan sat on the black paint and got stained. Luckily, Yulong had super-sized shorts for her. Hmm...

So, here are the 10 steps to make a banner for Dummies:

Step 1:Lay out the black cloth, discuss on what to do and use a measuring tape and take measurements

Step 2:Doodle with the computer and print out the letters for the words

Step 3:Start using chalk to draw on the black cloth

Step 4:Use EYE POWER to help to do the work (when you can't do anything). It helps....

Step 5:Paste the letters on the banner using masking tape

Step 6:Mix the paint with chopsticks and must have the right amount of paint and water(P.S:
Look where you are sitting)

Step 7: Start painting the banner

Step 8: Walalala.... there you go... the banner is complete (more or less)

Step 9: Clear up and wait for it to dry

Step 10: R & R (Time to oinks..)

That's the 10 idiot-proof steps to making a banner!!

Let me add on to what Nick said abt our Mentor Outing.

I tot it was quite fun and I tot that our newly invented ingenious game was just ingenious (can't find a better word).

Instead of dividing ourselves into two groups to play games cos we had 14 people, we decided to incorporate everyone into the games and that was the main aim for the outing anyway. And, I thought we accomplished that cos the aim was to have everyone get together and mix around. (tsk tsk... but the alliance from GMPS very strong manz.. it's GMPS vs the rest... tsk tsk)

The mentees all think that this is a rabbit...not a garfield.. haha.

Liang Qiao and the singing mentees, with their rendition of "home" by Kit Chan. The mentees had failed in trying to pyscho LiangQiao to let them play with his Laptop. In fact, when they couldn't get what they want, they storm out of the class, refuse to practise in the song singing...

Sean cultivating his greatest patience ever for Jianyong(hunter) and Jingyuan (another monster kid) It was one real strenuous task just to get these J-boys(Jianyong and Jinyuan) to settle down and do their work.

Wahz... it seems like only Nick and I are blogging here... ok lar, with the occassional posts by others. But, do blog yah... otherwise it defeats the purpose of setting up a blog in the first place.

Anyway, Matric fair was from 31 Jul to 3 Aug and some pics galore on the Matric Fair.

Over at BP Mentoring, we gave out our prized notebooks. 1 notebook actually costs a bomb (those in blue in the pictures below). Ha!

Anyway, recruitment this year was comparable to that of previous years and I think that the entire Rotaract Club surpassed their target expectation (even better than last year...). But, let's see how many actually do join BP Mentoring and do continue with it even after a year.

This is the second time I'm typing this entry. Anyway, we had a birthday celebration at the end of July for those whose birthdays fell between April and July.

And our birthday prince and princess for the day was Tian Zhen and Xinyi respectively. Here's the picture of the birthday "couple"... *keke* (later kana whacked)

Glad that the GMPS outing to the Science Centre turned out to be very fun for all , esp. those who played with the water! Ha! Kudos to all who turned up for the outing, both mentors and mentees. Gd job Liang Qiao and Nick!!

i find that this trip is very useful and interesting as i have learnt alot of things which i never learnt in school ..i also got the chance to hang out with my friends ...i hope the school can conduct more of this kind of trip as i like it very much..

As usual for primary school kids, we waited for half an hour or so for the latecomers. Jin Hong was way too late, and we have no choice but to leave without her. On my way there, she kept calling, to ask us to let her go by herself, and Stella even wanted to go and fetch her...

In the end, we feel that we really could not afford the time and manpower to let Jin Hong come along...

That Kai wee and the rest of the boys were the clowns on that day...when i say clowns, i really mean clowns. You should watch the video that i have uploaded onto Youtube. The one with the balloon demonstration in one of the auditorium. GMPS was bringing up the excitement of the whole demonstration. Way to go!

So we tagged along with the mentees and Mrs Yang was pretty enthusiastic in sharing with them the explanation behind the exhibits. The only so-called trouble that we get from the kids were that some of the boys were playing with the paper-rubberband catapult thingy. They even accidentally hit some of the strangers....

The mentees were always deriving pleasures out of simple things. Balloons, balls moving around, water.. ..you should really see how wet they were. We decided not to restrain them, and juz let them be. After all, perhaps these are rare moments haha. That doesn't of coz mean that the mentors ourselves wanted to get wet too. We were simply onlookers.

Quote of the day is the conversation between Liang Qiao and Jian Yong(hunter):

Liang Qiao: Hurry up, do a chop chop one.
Jian Yong: huh? chop chop? (apparently he couldn't catch what chop chop means) Erm, not lamb chop..or watsoever.

All in all, the whole trip was pretty alright, with less involvement in the actual quiz, but with some effort that was good enough. An excursion with primary school students will always be test on ur strength of your legs; you will have to keep running with them or even ahead.

Ok.. apparently my last post got deleted by blogger and I'm now retyping the entire thing again. Darn!

So, the second session at HSS was generally ok. Attendance was like ****, very terok. Because many mentors thought that calling and sms-ing the mentees was a one-off affair. Apparently not... Hopefully, it will be better next time. Aim next time... full attendance. Possible?

Anyway, we had the usual... both academic and activity.

This week, the academic/interaction time ended 5 minutes later than expected. Obviously... we started late again! Grrr...

Activity wise. I think that it was real fun and ~~dame~~ very well planned. Why? Because I planned it. Haha! (very bhb...) No lar... I think that since it went off smoothly, I will consider it a success; partly because everyone was very obedient and listened to instructions.

So, our activity was similar to blind man. One pair of mentee will work together; one will be blindfolded and the other will be the guide to the mentee. Along the stretch of corridor are post-its and the guide has to direct the blindfolded mentee to the post-its through verbal instructions and without touching them.

Some mentees did not give accurate directions, while others were just lost and confused. In the end, we did have some knocks here and there. Wenjun hit his head on the metal door handle and almost rammed face first into the fire extinguisher, while the blindfolded Simeng (right in foreground of the picture) bumped into another mentee.

Oh well, behind all the play lies the rationale that trust is important. Wanna find out more, do check up the internet for more details.

We tried doing the egg experiment again also. This time round, the egg didn't break. Hengz.... And, many still remembered how to differentiate between the hard boiled egg and the normal egg.

Went for mentoring at GMPS on Saturday. Liang Qiao and I were the only mentors there... the other mentors were either sick or busy working. As usual we had one hour of study and one hour of play. I could see some significant change in attitude in some of the mentees, ie Kai Wee and Jinting. They were rather cooperative throughout the session... maybe bcoz PSLE is coming ba. Heh.

Towards the end of the study session, a few of the mentees who finished their work early went to play mahjong. Haha! I was initially surprised when I heard them shouting "Peng" and "Hu". When I turned around, I saw that they transformed the word-forming game, Scrabble, into mahjong. Ha! Creative sia. ^_^

During the play session, we played badminton. However, the game of badminton eventually turned into fishing. Dun ask me how... The mentees went to ka-chiau the fishes that were in the flowerpots at the school garden. Poor fishes. =P Jian Sheng even kope some fishes home for 2^nd round of torture. -_-""

At around 12, we gathered the mentees in the classroom and Liang Qiao made some announcements. When the mentees were told that they had to come up with a song performance for the BP Anniversary, we got the expected "Hur..." from them. =P Haha! After that, we just escorted the mentees to the coffeeshop for lunch.

Looking forward to Science Centre outing this coming Saturday. Yeah! =)

Now, to post something about the sessions in HSS.

8 July was our first session in HSS.

The mentors actually did sms or phone their mentees on Friday to tell them about the session. Weiming was frantically (maybe not frantically, but something similar) emailing and sms-ing us before the session to remind us about it.

So, the first session saw a not too bad attendance rate. Much much improved from the very few that we had. We started late... obviously. So, it was basically academic work for 1 and a half hours and then 1/2 hour of activity. NOT!

At least for my case, it was mainly interaction and getting to know my new mentee. And since he's smart, academic work took only a fraction of our time.

So, after that, we had the science experiment and because the eggs broke while on the way to school, it was very very very disgusting and slimy. So, it was just verbal presentation throughout.

*yawns*

Weiming planned some team bonding activities like grabbing the hand of the person opposite you and then try to untangle yourself and a team relay whereby we had to move from one end to the other using different methods e.g. running, hopping, jogging, crawling, frog walk etc...

A pity that we had no camera that day.

Today is GMPS 's first BP mentoring session after the june holiday break for the students. The students were as usual restless with a suprising attendance of Jin Ting. Liang Qiao and I were pretty shocked that there is a BIG change in Jin Ting's attitude towards this BP mentoring session. She was very cooperative. We have to pass to them some photostated worksheets to do, which were done half-heartedly by most of them, who crave more for soccer and captain's ball. About 5 minutes before we commenced the games, Liang Qiao was asking the students how they could tell the difference whether egg A or egg B is the cooked egg. Most of them were quick in saying that they should weigh the egg..while there were still some who mentioned about spinning the egg. The guys were persistent in wanting to play soccer, but ultimately they still join the girls in playing captain's ball. After the whole session we went lunch with the mentees at the coffeeshop opposite the library. (by Nick)

The NUS-BP Mentoring and Tutoring Scheme is a unique community service project for NUS undergraduates (and alumni) to become Mentors to younger peers. A Mentor becomes someone special in a child's life over a period of time as a big brother or sister. We nurture and develop our mentees' potential through two-hour weekly sessions over a period of six to twelve months of sustained mentoring. NUS-BP Mentoring is a project under NUS Rotaract Club.
